Film and TV writer Roger Wolfson is not the son of wolves. “I have an affiliation with wolves,” joked Roger Wolfson. “I serve as the commissioner of animal services for the city of Los Angeles. As a result, I have managerial authority over all of the shelters and programs within the city. I think that I’ve always connected strongly to animals.”
The motion by Commissioner Roger Wolfson received two votes, with one opposed, but for passage needed approval from at least three of the five commissioners, two of whom did not attend Tuesday's meeting.
Roger Wolfson has risen to positions of prominence in the fields of entertainment, politics, news, and law. He is a professional television and film writer who has written for five network TV series. He currently runs a TV series on Crackle about the U.S. Embassy in Rome, and has sold eight original television series of his own to studios including Sony, ABC, CBS, Universal Cable Productions and A&E, as well as to networks including CBS, Bravo, and Lifetime. He has been staff for four U.S. Senators, written speeches for presidential candidates, been Vice President of Channel One News, founded his own strategic consulting firm and worked as a civil rights attorney.
The rally started with speakers from the community and Los Angeles Commissioner, Roger Wolfson. The rally also had hecklers who believed that zoos are necessary. Roger Wolfson’s speech was filled with compassion and reminded the protesters that what they are doing is profoundly important.
